Questions and answers

How hard is the Annapurna Base Camp trek?

Moderate. Expect 5-7 hours of walking a day with many stone steps. Basic fitness and good boots are enough.

Is the helicopter return guaranteed?

It depends on weather. Cloud in the afternoon is common, so flights usually leave in the morning.

Is Poon Hill included?

Yes. Day 4 begins with a sunrise visit to Poon Hill.

Do I need permits?

You need ACAP and TIMS. We arrange both.

Walk the best part of the Annapurna sanctuary and skip the knee-heavy descent. The route climbs through rhododendron forest to Ghorepani, adds a sunrise at Poon Hill, and continues to Annapurna Base Camp via Chuile, Sinuwa and Deurali.

On day 8 a helicopter flies you from base camp to Pokhara, and a flight takes you on to Kathmandu. Gurung and Magar villages and tea-house hospitality are part of the experience.
