Questions and answers

How hard is this trek?

Moderate. The longest day is the climb from Phakding to Namche and on to Syangboche, around 5-6 hours. Basic fitness is enough.

Is acclimatisation built in?

Yes. Day 3 is an easy acclimatisation walk around Khumjung. Altitude symptoms are still possible at 3,880 m.

Do we land at Kala Patthar?

The plan is a sunrise helicopter stop at Kala Patthar on day 4, weather permitting.

What is the price based on?

The starting price is per person on a shared helicopter departure. Group discounts apply for larger parties.

If you want to actually walk in the Khumbu but only have four days, this is the compromise. You fly to Lukla, trek the Dudh Koshi trail to Phakding and climb to Namche and Hotel Everest View, take a day to acclimatise around Khumjung, and then return by helicopter with a sunrise stop at Kala Patthar.

It gives you real contact with Sherpa villages, suspension bridges and monasteries without the 10 days of walking a standard trek demands.
